Bateman is an associate scientist with UAB's Division of General Internal Medicine and Population Sciecne, where she researches health and illness in the context of social structure. Her most current work is examining the impact of social determinants of health. She is the principal investigator of YES! We can PLAY: A Physical Activity and Nutrition After School Program for 6th Graders awarded by Department of Health & Human Services.
