Carolina Salvador, M.D., a breast cancer specialist, will join UAB’s Division of Hematology and Oncology in December as assistant professor, with a secondary appointment in the Division of Preventive Medicine. Salvador earned her medical degree and completed her internship, residency and a research fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. In addition she has completed a fellowship in oncology/hematology at the University of Louisville where she is currently assistant professor in the Division of Medical Oncology/Hematology.
“We are thrilled to have someone with Dr. Salvador’s caliber join the Division of Hematology/Oncology,” said Boris Pasche, M.D., Ph.D., director of the Division of Hematology and Oncology at UAB and deputy director of the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center. “Her research expertise will be valuable to the department and to the community.”
Salvador’s research interests are in preventive oncology and minority health-related issues.
