These new offerings strengthen UAB’s role as a leader in family medicine, behavioral health, dermatology and epilepsy treatment in Alabama.

Primary care at UAB St. Vincent’s East
UAB Family Medicine East at officially opened its doors Aug. 18, offering full-spectrum primary care services including preventive health screenings, pediatrics, chronic disease management and treatment for acute conditions.

The newly renovated 3,800-square-foot clinic features seven exam rooms, in-office labs, and point-of-care testing designed for patient accessibility and comfort. Located at 48 Medical Park Drive East, Suite 154, the clinic is staffed by a dedicated team of physicians committed to whole-person care.

Integrated behavioral health services
UAB’s innovative , or iBeMS, continues to expand its reach across primary and specialty care settings. Designed to address mild to moderate psychiatric symptoms such as anxiety, depression and insomnia, iBeMS offers same-day services and brief, evidence-based interventions.

By integrating mental health into routine medical care, iBeMS improves access and outcomes for patients across Birmingham and beyond. Currently, the clinic serves patients at The Kirklin Clinic of UAB Hospital, UAB Medicine Primary and Specialty Care of Gardendale, and UAB Medicine Hoover and Specialty Care

Epilepsy monitoring unit at the UAB Rehabilitation Pavilion
The new UAB Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, located in the 350,000-square-foot UAB , began admitting patients Aug. 21. The state-of-the-art facility more than doubles previous capacity, with 28 beds dedicated to monitoring and treating seizure disorders.

As one of only three Level 4 epilepsy centers in Alabama, the EMU enhances access to advanced diagnostics, surgical interventions and research opportunities for the estimated 54,000 Alabamians living with epilepsy.

Mohs surgery clinic at UAB Montgomery Regional Campus

The UAB Montgomery Mohs Surgery Clinic opened Sept. 9, bringing advanced skin cancer care closer to home for patients in central Alabama. This new location expands access to expert Mohs surgery, offering a more convenient option for those in the region and enhancing care for patients who previously lacked local treatment opportunities.
