Free App Week 2025The University of Alabama at Birmingham is making it easier for prospective undergraduate students to take the next step in their academic journey. From Oct. 6-10, UAB is hosting “Free App Week” where entering first-time freshman, transfer and online students can apply at no cost, regardless of their residency status.

As part of UAB’s initiative to expand access to higher education, all prospective students — both in-state and out-of-state — can apply this week without paying any application fees.

“UAB proudly participates in Free Application Week to help reduce financial barriers in the college admissions process,” said Kathleen Stallings, executive director of Undergraduate Admissions and Scholarships at UAB. “Free App Week promotes access and makes the application process less intimidating to students who are considering UAB.”

Future Blazers can apply online at uab.edu/apply during the fee waiver period. Applications must be started and submitted between Oct. 6 and 10 to qualify for the waiver — no code or additional step is necessary.

Browse 150-plus undergraduate degree programs through UAB’s Find Your Degree portal.

For prospective students interested in visiting UAB’s campus, the university offers campus tours to see where Blazers learn, discover, study and relax. This can be done on a traditional walking campus tour or on a ride around campus on the Dragon Wagon. Click here to schedule a campus tour.
