The University of Alabama at Birmingham Police and Public Safety Department is gearing up to compete in the 2025 World Police & Fire Games in Birmingham this summer. The games begin on June 27 and will go through July 6.
The WPFG consists of Olympic-style competitions with more than 8,500 athletes representing first responders from 70 countries. This includes law enforcement, firefighters and other public safety personnel. The WPFG are held biennially and typically include more than 60 sports.
Seventeen UAB police officers and UAB’s K-9 Officer Dolly will be competing in the games at the following events:

June 28-30: Flag Football
June 29: K-9 Explosives Detection
June 30-July 5: Track and Field
July 1: Angling
July 1-3: Bowling
July 2-4: Dodgeball
July 3-6: Basketball (3x3)
