All Poster Presenters

Our poster boards measure 4 feet (48 inches) in height and 8 feet (96 inches) in width.

Judging criteria include categories such as clarity and rationale, rigor and methods, experimental design, figure design, and presentation design. Judges may provide written feedback that will be shared with presenters. 

The 2025 NEURAL Poster Session will be held Thursday, June 12, 6:00-8:00pm, in the Hamilton Ballrooms at the UAB Hilton (808 20th St. S.). Presenters may arrive up to 1 hour prior to hang their poster. Light hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be available.

All Oral Presenters

This year, to ensure a smooth transition between oral presentations at NEURAL, we have built extra time into the schedule. Each presenter is allotted 15 minutes for their presentation: 10-12 minutes for science, 3-5 minutes for questions. Following each presentation, there will be a 5 minute buffer to allow for transitioning to the next presenter and presentation file. Oral presenters have been asked to notify us if they are using a Mac vs. PC, if they are bringing their own laptop and require an adapter, or if they are bringing their presentation on a flash drive. We want to be as prepared as possible ahead of time to avoid any delays.

Presenters: please note that your presentations will be displayed on a PC. We are asking that all oral presenters email their presentation files to roadmap@uab.edu so we can have time to review for any display issues and also have a backup of your file.

NIH Rigor Icons

This year, we would like trainees to incorporate the NIH Rigor Icons into their presentations. The Rigor Icons were designed to facilitate increased transparency in scientific presentations and improve conveyance of important experimental design elements via the use of a set of core rigor icons for oral and poster presentations. We will be providing the information to presentation judges and will provide printed icon labels that presenters can add for the poster presentations.
