Lu Receives Featured Discovery Award for AML Research
Rui Lu, Ph.D., associate professor in Hematology/Oncology, received the Featured Discovery Award for his investigation into menin inhibitor response in acute myeloid leukemia treatments. The study found that loss of PRC1.1 subunits leads to menin inhibitor resistance through upregulation of noncanonical menin targets, and that targeting these targets, such as MYC, can resensitize PRC1.1-deficient leukemia cells, offering promising strategies to overcome resistance.
