Biography
Dr. Petitt grew up in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Auburn University in 2016. She went on to complete her medical degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2021, followed by a preliminary internship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, in Boston in 2022. She then completed her dermatology residency at the University of North Carolina in 2025.
During residency, Dr. Petitt received the George K. Hightower Award for Excellence in Patient Care on the Consult Service and was recognized with the Best Resident Presentation at the 2025 North Carolina Dermatology Association meeting. She also received a Global Health Travel Award, which allowed her to spend a month in Malawi, where she gained experience managing skin conditions in darker skin types and resource-limited settings.
Dr. Petitt is interested in all aspects of dermatology, with a particular focus on general medical dermatology across all ages, including both adult and pediatric patients.
