A standout University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) startup company is being recognized for its innovation efforts.

ResBiotic Nutrition Inc., a company that focuses on pioneering microbiome-based products for respiratory health, has been selected as a 2025 Inno Fire honoree by the Birmingham Business Journal.

ResBiotic, which launched in 2020, was founded by C. Vivek Lal, an Associate Professor in the UAB Department of Pediatrics. The company was launched in collaboration with the UAB Bill L. Harbert Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

The Inno Fire program is intended to honor companies across the state of Alabama that are both finding success and blazing a path to success for others to follow.
