A fast-growing University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) startup company was recently featured in the Wall Street Journal.
The Wall Street Journal’s Buy Side, which reports on new products, featured a hair serum that uses technology developed by UAB spinoff company Yuva Biosciences. The article highlighted the effectiveness of hair restoration company BosleyMD’s Revive+ serum at regrowing hair, including for postpartum women.
Yuva Biosciences developed the Y100 technology that powers the serum. The technology, sourced from natural botanical molecules, results in increased energy going to hair follicles. This extends the hair’s natural growth and reduces thinning.
YuvaBio was founded in 2019 by three co-founders including Keshav K. Singh, Ph.D., Chief Scientific Advisor at YuvaBio and Joy and Bill Harbert Endowed Chair and Director of Cancer Genetics at UAB. The company was created to develop products that address aging at the cellular level. YuvaBio has licensed technology through UAB’s Bill L. Harbert Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
