The UAB CCEE Summer Camp is an exciting two-day immersive experience designed for students entering 9th through 12th grade who are curious about how engineers design the world around us.
Participants will explore how civil and construction engineers use technology, visualization tools, and hands-on experimentation to design safer infrastructure, smarter cities, and more sustainable communities.
The UAB CCEE Summer Camp packs a lot of experiences into two days, teaching participants about the science behind our built environment--from buildings, roads and bridges to water supplies and even the air that we breathe. The camp will include tours of UAB's campus as well as visits to local construction sites.
Camp Highlights
- Hands-On Engineering Labs - Students will experiment with real engineering tools and technologies used in modern infrastructure design and construction.
- Technology & Visualization - Explore how engineers use simulation, digital models, and visualization technologies to design and manage infrastructure systems.
- Construction Site Visits - Participants will tour active construction projects to see engineering principles applied in real-world environments.
- Engineering Design Challenges - Students will work in teams to solve practical engineering problems and present their solutions.

Camp Schedule
Dates: June 22–23
Time: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM daily
Location: UAB Campus – Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering
Each day will include a mix of interactive labs, campus activities, and site visits.
Registration
Tuition for the camp is $200. That covers all materials, transportation between sites, lunches, a UAB t-shirt, and a hardhat.
