The Master of Arts in Education in English as a Second Language is designed for individuals who have an undergraduate degree in education and hold Class B certification in any field (elementary, secondary, or special education), and wish to obtain Class A Certification for teaching ESL.

Coursework takes a minimum of 30 semester hours to complete and includes courses in grammar and linguistics for ESL teachers, phonology for second language teachers, and an internship in ESL. Admissions Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree with a minimum 2.75 GPA
  • Class B certification in any field
