Mike C. MuncherMike C. Muncher is a music educator, composer, and clinician from Calera, AL. He holds a Master of Music degree in Performance and Pedagogy from Oklahoma State University and a Bachelor of Music in Performance from Samford University in Birmingham, AL. Mike is a sought-after clinician and arranger, representing Vic Firth Sticks and Mallets. Mike serves as wind and percussion staff arranger for schools and colleges, having written for the Oklahoma State University Cowboy Marching Band, The Texas State University Bobcat Marching Band, and Samford University's Bulldog Marching Band among others.

As an educator, Mike is Music Director for the Alabama Department of Youth Services, and a staff member of the Calera High School Band program. He is in his second year as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Alabama-Birmingham.

As a clinician and author, Mike's article “One in a Million: Choosing the Right Method book” was published in the June, 2005 edition of the journal of the Percussive Arts Society, Percussive Notes. This article was used as foundation for his Master of Music degree project, Finding Your Way: Developing a Curriculum in Today’s Public School and University Percussion Studio.

As a performer, Mike has been section percussionist and timpanist with the Alabama Winds adult Concert Band, performing at the 2017 Midwest Conference in Chicago, IL. He has played percussion for many stage productions and as a member of many concert band and percussion groups in the Birmingham Area.

Mike has studied with Dr. John W. Parks, IV, Mr. James "Jed" Davis, Mr. Clint Gillespie, Dr. Grant B. Dalton, Dr. Tracy Wiggins, and Mr. Wayne Bovenschen in the area of percussion, Dr. Timothy Banks and Dr. Paul Popeil in conducting, and Dr. Mike D'Ambrosio in composition.
