TeNikka Roberts has more than a decade of experience in history and social studies education. She currently serves as a Middle School Humanities teacher at Highlands School, where she teaches U.S. History, World History, and Civics & Economics.
TeNikka earned her Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Secondary Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Master of Liberal Arts from Auburn University at Montgomery. She also holds a graduate certificate in Leadership and Professional Development from UAB and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Educational Studies in Diverse Populations with a concentration in Context, Culture, and Policy at UAB.
Her professional and scholarly interests center on history, human rights education, curriculum development, and creating meaningful learning experiences for young people. She is particularly interested in helping students understand how the lessons of history can empower them to recognize their own rights, understand the experiences of others, and see themselves as capable of creating positive change in their communities.
