I'm Skyler Oliver, a Plan I masters student with a background of bioinformatics. My research focuses on function and community structures in sea urchin gut microbiomes using metagenomic tools. This includes analyzing several species from across the globe, with specific interest in highlighting factors that alter microbial community composition in both specific taxa and the niches they inhabit. I am also a proponent of standardization, replicability, and optimization of study design for higher quality information.
