Publishing your web site using FrontPage 2000

PLEASE NOTE:
1) Our Help Desk does not provide support for how to use or install Microsoft FrontPage.
2) Only page publishing is supported - discussion groups & other interactive features are NOT supported at this time.
HOWEVER: We do provide instructions for how to configure FrontPage to work with your personal web site.
If you have already requested a DPO e-mail/web account, you are ready to use FrontPage. Click here for more information about how to request a DPO account.

In the FrontPage Explorer window (be sure you are in the correct window--not the one that is used to create pages), under the menu item File select Publish Web

A Publish Web window opens, with "http://" in the blank field. Delete these letters.

In the box labeled "Specify the location to publish your web to", put:

ftp://www.dpo.uab.edu/~youralias/web/
Be sure to substitute your Electronic Phonebook alias for the word "youralias". Also, be sure to include the tilde character (the little squiggle) as part of this URL.
Click the Publish button.

A new window opens asking for your name and password. Enter your alias and your password in the appropriate fields.
Click the OK button.

You will see little flying pages, indicating that your files are being transferred.
