DPO accounts

Enrolled students, as well as current employees, can sign up for basic, no-charge e-mail service and web page storage. You do so by applying for a DPO account.

With a DPO account you receive an e-mail box and a modest amount of disk space for creating a World Wide Web  (WWW) "home page".

You will need a method of dial-up access, such as an account with an Internet Service Provider, or a UAB network connection in order to access your e-mail and web space.

You can requesting and receive a DPO account on-line; the automated process usually takes less than fifteen minutes to complete. A good place to start, BlazerID Central, or apply for a DPO WWW account or, apply for an e-mail account.

To send and receive e-mail you can use one of the following e-mail software packages:

  • Netscape Mail
  • Mozilla Thunderbird
  • Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express Mail
  • Eudora
  • Pegasus
  • (or) OWA Outlook Web Access
  • Others
